Of the many things Nikon may not do well, at the top of this list has to be the design and manufacture of their tripod collars. Nikon's collar grabs when you try to rotate the lens. The Lens' locking knob is very small and poorly located, and over all the flimsy mount is prone to vibration."

Your new collar overcomes all these problems. Plus, you machine the base of the mount so that the Arca-style mounting-plate is part of the collar base. This lens has become one of my favorites, but I never really knew how sharp the lens could be until I used your tripod lens collar. Thanks again for the reincarnation of my lens.
